Wes, who was born in Calgary and grew up in a number of communities in BC including Williams Lake, Comox, Duncan and Nelson, has been living and working in Chilliwack since 1981. He attended the University of British Columbia where he obtained his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in May 1981. After graduating from UBC, he immediately went into the Chartered Accounting program and obtained his C.A. designation in April 1984.

Wes worked as a C.A. with a local accounting firm, McKnight Johnson & Partners until 1989 when that firm merged with a national accounting office. Wes continued to work at that office as a senior manager until November 1996 when he left to set up his own accounting practice. On July 1, 2001 he joined the firm as a partner.

Wes has been director on the boards of the Chilliwack Family YMCA, Big Brothers Upper Fraser Valley, Big Brothers & Affiliated Big Sisters of B.C. the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Chilliwack (Friday Club) and the Chilliwack Community Arts Council.

Wes was an avid racquetball and squash player for many years and enjoys music, movies, cooking and travel.
